You're not the only one feeling it.
Liberal Moms of the Northwest Suburbs is where progressive moms in the NW suburbs of Chicago come together for real connection, mutual support, and local action. No doom-scrolling. No guilt. Just community.
Join us for an afternoon of community, conversation, and inspiration to celebrate Mother's Day the Liberal Moms way. We're bringing together our community for a special event featuring speaker Dr. Michelle Morkert, with donations benefiting the WINGS Program, a Chicagoland nonprofit that provides safe housing and support to survivors of domestic violence.
Our Speaker: Dr. Michelle Morkert, PhD
Dr. Morkert is a Chicago-based women's leadership coach, Fulbright Scholar, and professional speaker who has spent nearly two decades researching how systems work against women and helping women break through them. She works with leaders across industries to build confidence and find their voice.
Our Beneficiary: WINGS Program
WINGS provides housing, counseling, and long-term support to adults and children escaping domestic violence across the Chicagoland area. We'll be collecting feminine hygiene product donations at the door, and any extra proceeds from the event will go directly to WINGS.
Flying the Pride flag at Village Hall is a simple, visible act of inclusion. Our towns keep saying no. We're not accepting that anymore.
Our towns should show up for the LGBTQ+ community, and we've been asking for years. This year, we're not just asking; we're showing up.
Here's how to get involved:
Email your mayor and village council. Use our template sheet, which includes pre-written emails and contact info for surrounding towns. Add your personal story if you're comfortable.
Track your outreach. Log that you sent your email in the first tab of the sheet so we can see our collective impact.
Spread the word. Forward the sheet, share this page, and get others emailing too.
Show up in person. Starting in May, we'll be making public comments at Village Council meetings. Stay tuned for dates and details.
